Shorty's ears stand up on their own and he has beautiful markings. He is a little shy and takes time to get to know us, but he is getting better each day. He is sweet and loves to cuddle and sit in my lap or anywhere as close to us as he can get. He is very good in his crate and goes in on his own sometimes and sleeps.

Nori: 11 mth old red male, docked tail and uncropped ears. 10", 6 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Nori is very cute, and petite. His ear stand on there own, his tail has been docked, his due claws have been docked also. His personality is very sweet and easy to handle, he is enthusiastic and a firecracker! So far he has not had an accident in the house he seems to be house trained. But I let them out often. He loves to cuddle and be close to you. I have been crating him to eat and sleep and when I go out and he is getting used to it he does howl a little. He barks a little but it is not excessive and he is not a whiner.

Nikki - "ADOPTION PENDING" is a darling 7 yr old black and tan girl. She is docked, with stand up ears. She is potty trained inside with peepads and also knows the doggie door. She is gentle, sweet, playful, loves to go for walks and is looking for her forever home. She gets along okay with other dogs, but is rather shy. She is also crate trained, loves to sleep under tons of blankets and will take the others' blankets all to herself. She loves toys, and the squeakier the better. She is not much of a barker, and would do well with another small dog. She's not so fond of the bigger dogs. She would do well with another gentle small dog. She is fine with cats. In a word, she is a precious little soul looking for that special person to give her kisses and hugs to -- are you ready for her love?

Dillon is a 9 year old sweetheart. She is an owner turn in due to a divorce and is spayed, housebroken and crated trained. She likes sleeping and taking her naps in her crate on her own. She also loves to sit in a chair with me. She get along very well with cats and even will share a recliner with them for their naps. She also gets along with little dogs once she gets to know them. Dillon is still very playful in spite of her age. She is very lovable and very protective. She would do better in a home with only adults or older children and no dogs bigger than her.

Roscoe is his name and he is into fun and games. He is full of life, love and happiness. He is a morning boy, getting up and running around in circles and ready to play. He has been living in a household with cats and both large and small dogs. He can be an escape artist and that is probably why he is with us now. He is very smart and knows what "go to our house" means, he also knows how to wait for treats and sits in his own special way. He is a climber and sometimes can be found on the kitchen table.

Margo was rescued off the streets by a wonderful angel. She took her to the shelter to see if her owners could be located. When nobody came for her, she was due to be put to sleep. Margo's guardian angel kept watch over her, making sure she stayed safe. She delivered her to IMPS and she is now safe and settling in. She is a beautiful, quiet girl. Her tail vibrates to let you know she is happy. Losing a few pounds is on her list of things to do. But finding a new forever home is at the top of her list. Could you be that home? Tara: 2 yr old black & rust female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 12.5 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Tara is a beautiful minpin with a coat like velvet. She was caught in a cat trap by mistake and ended up at the shelter where she was very scared. She waited for her family for 16 days but no one came for her. Tara was so frightened by her surroundings that rescue was her only hope for survival. She immediately began to calm down once she was out of the shelter and has turned into a wonderful dog. She is starting to play with the toys and with the other minpins in the household. Tara is housetrained using a dog door. She rides good in a car and loves to go for walks. Tara craves affection and attention. She is more comfortable with women than with men; however, given patience, she will become anyone's best friend. No children or apartments, please. August is now known affectionately as Ralphy in his foster home. The name Ralphy seems to fit him better and he didn't answer to August.
This boy is just about the sweetest dog you would ever want to meet. A very easy keeper, he likes to hang out next to you on the couch while you watch tv, or sit in your lap while you work on the computer, or go for a walk with his dog sister.
Ralphy wanted me to tell you that puppies are a pain - "Why adopt a puppy when you can have a well mannered boy like me? I'm housetrained and full of love. Please welcome lovely little Hula girl. She'll dance her way into your heart! Sweet sweet Hula is so happy go lucky she loves to run on the beach and lay in the sun. She'll play with the nearest dog who will play back or ask you for some love and affection. Hula is a very well behaved girl. Her owner got very sick, was in the hospital and could no longer care for her so Hula had been living in a car with the owner's daughter. She had come to us quite thin and is now a normal, healthy weight. Hula is such a smart girl and was taught to sit and stay like a good girl. This little girl is so happy to show off her talent to you. Hula has a GORGEOUS face and everyone who sees her thinks she is SO regal and has that Egyptian look to her....just beautiful! Betty Boop: 1.5 yr old black & tan female, soon to be spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14", 15 lb. Owner give-up.
Betty Boop aka Boo is a larger sturdier minpin gal. We are working on losing about 3 lbs. This shouldn't be a problem as she absolutely loves going on walks. Boo was surrendered when her owner fell on hard times. She is great with other dogs and her previous owner states she loves cats too. She has been fine with meeting strangers on the street, but is a little wary when meeting people in our home. She tends to watch visitors from afar and slowly ventures in for a good smell. For all the men out there... you will need to be patient with her. She warms up quicker to women. Boo is active, playful and extremely loving once she feels secure. I love how she prances around. She is doing great in the house with no accidents so far. She learned the dog door on the 2nd day with us. Boo is also doing great with sleeping in a crate at night. I will update as we get to know her more.

WANTED: Forever home for a big, sweet, handsome chocolate boy. You: must have a box full of toys that squeek with the poke of a nose. Must have a warm lap, soft words and give good ear rubs as well as enjoy walks and don't mind teaching me some leash manners. Me: I get along with cats, other dogs are just fine,but I need to warm up to strangers. Car rides are kind of scary but we can work on this....I am easy, attentive and learn fast and have been told to look into my eyes is to see into my soul. I already know "sit" and where to go potty outside and I hardly ever bark.

Spunky: 3 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Just as his name implies this little guy is really Spunky and lively! Little Spunky was found as a stray after being attacked by another dog. He had bite wounds all over him and a few broken ribs that are all healed up nicely now. Spunky is always on the go! He wants to please and needs alot of exercise and attention to run off his energy. He is REALLY funny and will make you laugh with his dance he does for a treat. When you tell him "down" he hops to and does a very regal and beautiful "down". He is very smart and is learning more commands. This is a good lookin' boy with a nice little white spot on his chest. He shows you every minute how GRATEFUL he is to be in a warm home. Spunky is great sleeping in a crate or in your bed at night. If you're looking for a great little companion who's an awesome size and temperament then Spunky would love to come home with you! Due to his high energy level please no children under 18 and no large dogs.

Don't let the 8 yrs in age fool you. Scully has a couple grey hairs, but a ton of life! Scully is a spunky, happy, friendly, confident redhead, and so true to the minpin standard in temperament : "Fearless animation, complete self-possession and spirited presence." She jumped into my car, sat in her seat and was ready for her next big adventure. I have never had a foster come into my home and fit in so quickly... like she'd lived here forever. Scully will sit in your lap, lie on the floor next to you and be a total doll. When you are ready to go do something, she is more than willing. I can't say enough about her and could go on and on. This little girl deserves so much better than what she has had. Her nails were overgrown, she is a bit underweight, and way under loved. She craves lap time and will willingly wait her turn for it. She will not run off, or be a bother in any way. She is one of those little dogs that you just want to take everywhere and never put down. Within 24 hours, she has the hearts of many who have helped get her into rescue. She rides so nicely in a car, walks on a leash, sleeps quietly in a crate, plays with other dogs, is nice to cats, uses a dog door and so much more. If you have ever wanted a doggie soul mate, Cricket is your girl. It will be love at first sight.

Charlie Brown is very social with other dogs. He is a bit timid when first meeting new people, but he warms up to strangers within minutes. He loves to curl up on the sofa next to you and just sleep. He is house trained, crate trained and plays with his toys. Charlie Brown walks well on a leash. Other commands are a work in progress, but he is sitting on command after one night of working with him. Loves to play outside and bask in the sun.

Jane is a true lady and everything you could ask for in a dog. She's crate and housetrained, great on a leash and knows basic commands. Her only issue is cats, so a feline free environment would be best. No young children or apartments, please. Jane has such a gentle, loving spirit. Shadow is the cutest little guy ever .... he is such a sweetie & is kennel trained, but loves to sleep under blankets and snuggle with his foster mom. Shadow was given up to the local Humane Society by his owners due to allergies but he is absolutely sweet. He can be snappy with those he does not know so it is recommended that he goes to a home without children or with older children that will be mindful of his quirks! He is housebroken as long as he is kept on a schedule and let outside regularly. Will you be his furever family??

Star and Macey came from a Montreal puppy mill where they were spending their whole lives crated, producing babies. They were so thin I am sure they rattled when I picked them up. Their names were chosen as they were half starved and emaciated. They have been in a loving home now for 9 months and are housetrained and good pets.
They are undemanding and grateful for their love and care. The "human" who had them in those dreadful conditions has been charged and prosecuted. Star and Macey are now released for adoption.
Star and Macey are a bonded pair, and may be mother and daughter. Star is the more dominant and is probably younger but they should be placed together, more detials are available to interested enquirers.

Dino: approx 5 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Dino was found as a stray in a big city and brought to a shelter. Dino did not like it in the cold noisy shelter. The shelter contacted IMPS to have Dino transported to a warm quiet safe foster home to be cared for away from the noisy shelter. Dino is a very smart friendly min pin and seems to have been well taken care of. It takes him a little while to get use to strangers but once he warms up to you, he will follow you all over the house. He barks at strangers but not more then the average dog. Dino enjoys getting attention, being at your side or on your lap while watching TV or under the blankets with you at bedtime. Dino gets along good with his foster brothers and sister, he is kind of nervous around cats. Dino seems to be doing good so far with his house training but could use some more work and a regular routine. Dino enjoys being outside in a fenced in area, he enjoys going for rides in a car and going for walks but could use some more leash training. Dino is learning how to play with toys and working on his socialization training. Dino will do best in a home with older children, early teens and up, as sudden movements make him nervous. Dino do best in a home were he is not left alone for long periods of time. If you have any questions about Dino I'll be more then happy to answer them . Rush (Russ): approx 2 yr old black & tan male, neutered, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 16", 18 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Russ is a young active miniature pinscher that enjoys running around and playing with toys. Russ is a sweet min pin but needs a home to help teach dog manners, work on basic commands and obedience. It takes Russ a little while to get use to strangers. Russ does good with his house training when brought outside on a regular basis. He has some minor separation anxiety issues which may be best in a home were he will not be left alone for long periods of time. It might be best for Rush to be in a home with a younger min pin about his same age so they can play together and keep Russ company when no one is home. Russ will do best in a home with older children (over the age of 12) that know how to act around a younger playful dog. Russ does not do good in a crate.
Russ enjoys sleeping on the bed or next to you while watching TV. Rush general doesn't get along with cats, he tries to play with them and sometimes chases after them. Russ likes to go for rides in the car. I'll be more then happy to answer any questions about Russ, just email me and give me about a day or so to respond.

Buddy: 4 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Buddy is fantastic. He is living with a nine year old daughter that *adores* him - and the feeling is quite mutual. We have not seen even a hint of snapping, if he is corrected for growling he doesn't escalate into snapping and he backs right off.
He is fitting right in with our pack of 5 dogs (including him). He has no interest in our two cats - but they are bigger than him so he would be in trouble if he were to go after one of them. ;)
The first day here I caught him marking on a corner in the house where another dog had marked several days before, but nothing since then. But then again, we don't let him wander around the house unsupervised so he has little opportunity.
He is getting lots of exercise both on and off leash. .
He has very good recall, inside and outside. Sometimes, especially late in the evening, he doesn't want to go outside with the rest of the dogs for a pee break so we need to insist that he goes. To me this is the beginning of him attempting to "lead" rather than "follow" so we don't let him get away with it. He has all but given up protesting this now. I would think this is worth mentioning to a prospective adopter as something to watch out for and to be careful not to permit him to do, lest he start calling the shots.
I would consider him to be highly adoptable and a real prize for any lucky family. He is a very bright and friendly little guy.

Jasper is a very outgoing, friendly, HIGH energy dog. He has had his heartworm treatment and he must have been just slightly positive because he has not had ANY problems. He was found as a stray by a shelter. He is a very handsome guy, on the bigger side but not too big. He is housebroken, happy and full of young dog energy. He will make a wonderful addition to any family who understands his energy level and need for lots of exercise. A home with other dogs to play with or preteen children would be great.

Chloe: 3-4 yr old chocolate female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. Shots up-to-date.
Chloe is long in body and very regal and just beautiful. She is a sweet dog and asks to be petted periodically. When in the same room with her working foster mom, she lays quietly to wait until she is called for some petting or to go outside. She gets along great with her foster brother and sister and is not overly curious about her foster mom's parrots. Because of this, she will probably be ok around cats, but has not been tested. Although she loves treats, she is not a big eater. She has just been spayed so she is not being played with too roughly until she heals.

SENIOR DOGS LOOKING FOR LOVE
IMPS volunteers are dedicated to rescuing Miniature Pinchers and finding the perfect forever home, but there are always too many dogs in need, too little foster space, and the ones that get turned away are most often older/special needs critters that people don't want. These dogs are euthanized before their natural time to go. We know people want a younger dog to spend more time with, but there are no guarantees in life and the depth of love between human and canine friends can defy the limits of time, bring the same rewards be it months or a couple years or many. A lot of these dogs came to us because they lost their owners first; many Min Pins live 16-18 years. For the very few older/special needs dogs that we can maintain in foster care, we'd like you to at least consider making a home for one or even being a foster home. The adoption donation is much lower for older dogs and there is no fee, of course, to foster a dog. Some of our dogs have the typical problems of "old age", but they are minor ones and everyone likes to walk in the sun, snuggle, eat and watch the world with their humans. They are all welcome to live out their lives with their current foster parents, but there are others who'd like the same chance. Thanks for thinking about them. (All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, at least potty trained to a schedule, and would do best in quieter homes with no young children.)

Bella: 8 yr old black & tan female, soon to be spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 10 lb.
Bella was rescued from a puppymill after her services were "no longer" required. She has never been outside of a cage and knows nothing of house life. Her temperment is wonderful and she is learning to play and wag her tail. She would do best in a home that has another dog for her to depend on and learn from. She loves to snuggle and is learning about couches, beds and blankets. She will go potty outside with my other dog, but is just learning about housetraining. Bella would love a quiet, gentle home with someone who is willing to be patient with her.
Update 5/5:Miss Bella is doing great! She's 80% housetrained, loves to snuggle in bed with you. Knows how to jump up on the sofa, plays with toys and will ask you to pet her. She still get's scared when you pick her up, but is getting better and better with each passing day. She is very loving and it's been wonderful to see her sweet personality start to come out. Does anyone have some extra time for this special girl?

Bud: 2.5 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 13", 18 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
Bud is a handsome, loving, active young guy. His home dissolved due to incapacitating illness so Bud needs to find a new permanent family. He is full of life, active and playful with other dogs and people both, likes to cuddle and hides under a blanket or towel for fun. He also enjoys exercise. He followed his folks everywhere, and is housetrained on a schedule. Bud can be tempted to mark in a home with other dogs, so he is now wearing a belly band to gradually break him of the habit - he is improving the longer he wears it and should soon learn not to do it at all. He's just an overall well-adjusted, healthy, happy dog that will fit in well anywhere with ease. He's definitely a people dog so you'll want a critter that's a best friend and true companion. His current family is heart-broken, but expecting the best from IMPS and our super adopters.

Rocket is a sweet little guy who just wants to be your loyal companion. He enjoys the usual min pin activities of playing, walking, and snuggling, and would love a family to call his own. More information to follow as we get to know this cutie better...
Update 5/31: Rocket has settled into his foster home and his stellar personality is really coming through! Rocket is now housetrained, walks like a complete gentleman on a leash, and plays like the happiest dog on the planet with his canine siblings. His favorite things to do are watching his mom cook ("oh, for me? well thank you..."), finding a nice blanket to lay under with whoever happens to be napping or watching TV, and just being an overall goofball. He also gets along well with children, both with the school age children in the home as well as with an infant who visits on a regular basis. Due to a past bad experience, Rocket isn't a huge fan of crates, so he can only be placed in a home that will allow him free run of the house or can restrict him to a small room like the kitchen while no one is home.

Allie: 7-9 month old black & rust female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 10", 7.5 lb. Shots up to date. Rescued from shelter.
Meet Allie! Allie was found roaming the streets with her beautiful friend (and possible sister) Abby. Allie is a willowy, all natural girl who is sweet and easygoing. We are working with Allie on her housetraining. She has settled quickly in her foster home and enjoys playing with her toys, giving kisses and snuggling in bed with her foster mom and dad. Allie is a happy, active gal and she would make a wonderful addition to most homes.
Special Note: Allie was recently diagnosed with a medium grade heart murmur. She has been seen by a cardiologist and it remains uncertain if this will have any impact at all on her future activities - she will be retested again at a year and if there have been no changes, it is unlikely to affect her life in any way (puppies often have heart murmurs that disappear over time as they grow, and humans live with them all the time) - her vet is optimistic that this slight abnormality will have no impact on her life, energy level, or stamina for lots of playing. She is active and bouncy and has no ill effects, as is the case with many dogs. Please contact Allie's foster mom for more information.

These 5 beautiful min pins are all part of the same litter and were born in September 2008 - they are about 7-8 months old. Their parents are a lovely pair of min pins from the same home who unintendedly "got together" and voila. All dogs involved (parents and puppies) have now been spayed and neutered and brought current on all shots, including heartworm preventative. As part of a household with a lot of well-loved but young dogs, these puppies will need help with their basic housetraining and commands, but will make wonderful pets for dog knowledgable homes willing to work a little bit with them. They are all loving and playful and get along well with other dogs and with older age children. Some would love to be adopted together if anyone is interested in a pair or threesome...
Izzy is lovable and loves to be held. Sometimes his ears flop over, sometimes they stand up.

Crumpet: 8 yr old red female, docked tail and cropped ears. 10", 6 lb. Rescued from shelter.
This gorgeous girl is Crumpet, a very petite, sweet-as-can be charmer! Not much is known about Crumpet's past, but she is a complete doll - she is the sweetest min pin her foster home has ever met. She loves to cuddle and just be with her people. Crumpet does take phenobarbitol for seizures, but they are very well under control with a twice-daily dose of the inexpensive (maybe $8 a month) medication, and a pill for her thyroid. Neither of these are serious issues with an owner on a schedule, and she has many, many years of love and happiness ahead of her, she is just looking for the right home to share them with. She will be ready for that new perfect home as soon as she is spayed and has her teeth cleaned (she wants to look her best for introductions..., but she shouldn't worry, she is already a stunning dog). She is still working on perfecting her housetraining, so she goes out frequently, but she is improving every day.

Bebe: 3 mth old black & tan female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 6 lb. Right rear leg amputated. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Even though BeBe has 3 legs, you would not know it. She goes up and down my 7 steps fast and perfectly. She runs around and plays, with a little clumsiness but she gets better and better. She is almost housebroken, but she's only 3 months old. But she knows what it means an has been going out on her own (I have a door open all the time for my dogs). She is the sweetest little girl, loves to cuddle, rides in a car beautifully, loves kids and is gentle with them. She is just learning to play--she didn't seem to know how but she is doing well with learning. She has a very healthy appetite, responds to her name very well, curls up in bed and is very quiet...she knows what it means when we are in bed and goes to sleep. She really would be fine living in an apartment or home...I haven't taken her for any walks yet so she isn't familiar with a leash. She loves running around the yard and hanging outside with my pets. She is very gentle with children.

Rafael is a stunning min pin looking for new home with loving owners and hopefully a few other canine companions to play with. This lovely girl is Samantha, a laid-back, good natured gal. When Samantha was turned in to the shelter by her owners, she was overweight and kind of shy, but WOW, she has come a long way since then! With an improved diet and walking regimen, Samantha has lost 8lbs and is now healthy and happy. She loves to follow her people around, and knows all the basic commands. She also enjoys a good lap for snuggling and has the cutest little tooth that sticks out and gives her face the funniest little expression. She was raised in a home with children, so she does fine with them, and she is completely housetrained. Samantha does have a slight limp right now and will be having a procedure to correct a knee issue in the next few weeks. After that, she will be ready for her forever home.

Dasher is a very sweet boy. He is great with kids and gets along well with other dogs and people. He is potty trained with a doggie door. He is a big couch potato! He will get up on the couch with you and tunnel under the covers. He does this little grunting thing when he wants your attention and it is the cutest. My min pin is so jealous of him because we give him lots of love. He is not much of a barker. He likes to go for rides in the car and to be taken on walks. Please note, he is a digger and will dig to escape your yard.

Samantha (Sammi): 10 yr old black & tan female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 10", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date.
SPECIAL NEEDS: Sammi lost her home when her human mama developed a life-threatening illness and had to give her up. She had been with only her mama since she was a puppy. Now Sammi needs someone who will give her a loving and stable home and help her feel secure once again. Sammi is spry and happy. She has special needs because she has a lower back problem that makes her a little unsteady on her feet. She is on medication for this and her back condition is stable at this time. She is able to run and walk easily, she just loses her footing in the back sometimes. She gets along well with other dogs but she chases cats so she should not be in a home with cats. She would be ok with older children who would leave her alone. She was housetrained to newspapers and is learning to do her business outdoors. She will walk on a leash and is fairly tolerant of being in a crate. Sammi does not care for being picked up and can be growly about that, but most of the time she is pretty congenial. If you have room in your heart and home for an older gal who needs an understanding and loving heart, please apply to adopt Sammi.

Raisin is a special dog who is looking for a very special forever home. She has been poked, prodded, scanned and squeezed. Nothing difinitive has been determined as being "wrong" with her. But as you see, she wears a diaper. This is because she has a leak in her plumbing. Her drips do not keep her from being a loving dog and doing typical pin things. She loves the outdoors, riding in a car, cuddling on the sofa, just being with you. She is a very devoted and loving companion. She is energetic and playful..just plain adorable. Carlos is kind of housebroken --- he marks some, and I hope that goes away once he is neutered. He isn't as cuddly as Mama, but he is SO MUCH FUN. He's gotten bigger---he's taller than Mama now, and I haven't weighed him recently, but I bet he's close to 18 pounds!! He is a bit of a digger, but it's not too bad. He isn't as inclined to run away, but if he gets out of the door behind Mama, he sticks with her (which I think is how they ended up together in the first place).

Lucy and Desi are wonderful little dogs who somehow lost their way and ended up in a shelter. They both are wellfed and sweet little dogs who now need to find a forever home. "Hi, My name is Rudy. I am just getting used to my new home and foster brothers and sisters. I am just waiting to go swimming in the pool but have to wait until my surgery (neuter) has healed. I am protective of my house as there are a lot of construction workers around and I allert my foster mom that someone is outside. I follow her around wherever she goes just to see if there might be a treat. Since I now have two feeding times not food down all day I am always on the look out for a taste of something. Don't let my size worry you. I like being a lap dog too. I can be held like a baby and be talked to and rubbed for hours on end. I am quite healthy and don't even act my age. So if you are looking for a settled down, devoted, shadow of a machine I am your man."

"Hi, My name is Titan. I am making myself right at home with my new home, foster brothers and sisters. My foster mom told my that she has figured out why I was lost -- I climb chain link fences and dart out of open doors. I don't know why I do that because I love it here. I have to eat soft food with a little bit of kibble because my first parents did not take care of my teeth. I had 22 teeth pulled as they were all full of yucky stuff. I feel much better now and even try to chew the beef tendons everybody else chews. I would love to be an only dog as my foster mom tells me I need attention 24/7 -- whatever that means. Do you have a secure wooden fence, crate(for when doors are open and I love to sleep on one, and two good hands to give me attention? If you can say yes to the above then I would love to meet you. Oh yeah -- you can't laugh when my tongue hangs out of one side of my mouth as there are no teeth to hold it inside of my mouth. Perhaps a doggie dentist would like to adopt me and give me a new set of teeth!! Well, if you are interested in adopting me please email my foster mom."
I thought Titan would never let me, his foster mom, get a word in edgewise! Since IMPS is a not-for-profit organization we have to ask for donations now and again to cover the high expences of certain dogs. Titan falls into that category. CENTRAL FLORIDA - ANIMAL CONTROL CONFISCATION
IMPS has taken in 14 out of 18 Min Pins taken in a confiscation in Central Florida by Animal Control. These were actually a group of 23 dogs confiscated, the rest were Jack Russell Terriers. Of the remaining 4 Min Pins, 2 are with another rescue group and 2 are with the Lakeland SPCA.
These dogs were living in horrible conditions, all were very thin and living in their own feces and urine. They are all very sweet dogs and seem to thrive on human companionship. They have been in a local shelter since the middle of October due to legal complications. The shelter was adequate, but they were sleeping with no blankets or beds on cold hard concrete floors. They are reveling in their new homes, with warm air and blankets to sleep on.
If you feel you can help with a donation for their care, it would be gratefully appreciated. All but three of these dogs required extensive dentals and each needed their shots, Heartworm tests, fecals, microchips and spay or neuter. Two of them needed extra surgeries for large tumors. "Do you remember your mythology? Daphne was pursued by Apollo - that boy was relentless - all ll because of her beauty. Daphne begged for him to stop and was turned into a tree in order to escape him. Well, that is me. All my life I have been pursued by those pesky boys wanting to have their way with me, and I am t-i-r-e-d of it I tell you. I have made beautiful babies for my humans over and over and over and I just want a rest from it all. I want to live with some humans who want to worship and adore me and whisper sweet nothings in my ears. I want a daily massage. I want you to give me special cuddles. And I want to be the only dog. Shoot, I'd like a breast reduction too but I would settle for a comfy lap and your promise that you won't make snarky comments about my saggy-saggys. Nicholas: 7-10 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 10", 10 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Nicholas is a middle aged (7-10 years old) small(about 10 lbs), male who was once a breeder dog. He is a very timid boy, who even after 3 weeks in his foster home remains very timid around humans. He has a sweet personality once you get to know him but he will remain hesitant in his approach, even once he knows you. Because Nicholas was used for breeding, he is dominant around other dogs, including females. He is not good with cats...he wants to do them harm. Nick is far nervous to be with children. He is crate trained. Housebreaking is a work in progress. Nicholas has lost most of his teeth and because of this his lower jaw bone has shrunk and is considerably shorter than it should be. These two problems cause his tongue to hang out and he puddles saliva if he's in one place for any length of time. Nicholas is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

Mac: 7-10 yr old black & rust tan, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 15 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Mac is a solidly built, medium sized pin. He is middle aged (7-10 yrs old) and weighs approx. 15 lbs. He was once a stud dog and possesses a very dominant nature. He is not good with other dogs, including females, feeling the need to dominant all dogs within view. As a result, he is not likely to be good with children b/c he will dominate them also. He is not good with cats (he wants to eat them). He is crate trained and we're working on housetraining him at present. Mac is very aloof and standoffish with people, simply tolerating their presence. Once he gets to know you though and claims you as his own, he shares his sweet personality with you. He needs an experienced dog owner who can understand and deal with his dominance issues.

Lulu: 5 yr old black & rust female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 14", 18 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
Lulu is a very sweet girl and gets along with kids, cats and other dogs. She presently lives with 2 labs. Lulu had to have surgery for a bladder stone and will have to be on a special diet from now on, but should have no problems if kept on the food. She loves cuddling and sleeping with you under the covers.

Minnie: 8-10 yr old black & tan female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 8", 9.5 lb.
Minnie is a cute, sweet, loving little mini pin. She is crate trained, house broken, lets you know when she needs to go potty, is good with others dogs and people and cats, and loves her bones! She is between 8 & 10 years and is approx. 8 " tall and weighs 9.5 lbs. So she needs to diet a bit! :)
Minnie's former owner has a terminal illness and is also in jail. The owners brother took her in but was living in the woods in a camper with no running water. He left Minnie on the front porch of a lady who was his neighbor at one time. Minnie's toenails were so long they had curled under and one-half inch of one nail was imbedded in her paw. She could hardly walk!
Minnie is diabetic and will be starting on her insulin in the next day or so. It appears that she has not had the diabetes long, so her care should not be difficult. Minnie also has cataracts but that does not slow her down one bit!
Minnie just needs a home and family to love and to love her back! She is a sweetheart!
Update 4/28: Minnie has had a dental, and is now regulated on insulin for her diabetes.

That's because I wasn't cared for properly until now and unlike those gremlin fellas my condition is reversible. I am missing most of my hair right now except for on my back but I am one of the cutest and sweetest boys you will ever meet. My foster mom says I am very photogenic even with all my hair missing, what do you think? I love to be petted and bury myself under the blankets. The doctor says I have a slight case of demodex mange, which is not contagious and probably some allergies perhaps from those yucky fleas that were on me before. Other than that I am a happy and healthy boy. Sela is a former IMPS dog found as a stray at a local shelter. She is totally housebroken, crate trained (although she doesn't like it much), walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs. She is a bit shy on first meeting but seems to warm up quickly. She absolutely LOVES toys and likes to have you throw them for her. She really likes it when you have two, she'll bring the first one back and drop it for the second one. She is a tall slender girl and still very active.

Jack: 11-12 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 14.5 lb. Owner give-up.
Jack was found abandoned in a trailer after his owners moved and left him, and the park management took him to the shelter. IMPS got him and put him through heartworm treatment, but the heartworms were severe, and he was left with an enlarged heart and a cough. He takes a pill daily in peanut butter for this and loves his treat! Jack loves nothing better than to go for a car ride. It's his favorite. And he sleeps buried under the covers until he's ready to get up, which is usually after everyone else! He loves to nap in the sun or on the back of the couch too. Jack lives in a busy house now with young kids, cats, and dogs. He loves all kids and is gentle and very tolerant with them giving kisses and such, but he understandably doesn't like to be hit at or have his ears pulled by the little ones. Jack can't do a ton of physical exercise with his heart condition, although short walks and car rides are much appreciated and looked forward to. He's pretty much an all around great guy and needs someone willing to love him through his sunset years. If that's you, his foster mom would love to tell you more about this sweet boy.

Pumpkin: 8 yr old red female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 10", 7 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
Pumpkin was returned to IMPS because she jumped off the bed and injured her back with her former adopter. We thought she was going to have to have surgery but the orthopedic surgeon doesn't want to do it. He feels that she can be controlled with medication and the surgery is just too risky to put her thru it. Pumpkin is such a sweet little girl and she deserves to have her forever home. She could easily be around for another 6-8 years. She is very happy and spunky and loves to run around with the other dogs. She is prematurely white and is really only about 8 yrs old. She loves to cuddle with you and the only requirement is that you don't let her jumps off BEDS. Meds are very easy and inexpensive, 3 in the am, 2 in the pm. Please give this cute little girl a chance at her new forever home.

Brendan was turned into the shelter because he "didn't get along with the other dogs". He has been fine here in the pack of pins. He may not want to PLAY with them, but he is fine with them being here. He is a very sweet dog with a really cute face. He has a permanent puppy look. He knows how to use a dog door, is housebroken and is all around just a pretty nice little guy. I love that floppy ear and check out those Adam Lambert eyes!

Lucy - "ADOPTION PENDING" is a 6 yrs old black & tan female, 6 lbs of love, docked tail, natural ears, shots up to date, owner abandoned.
Poor little Lucy was left all alone in a pet supply store with a note saying that she was homeless and had never been to a vet. She was underweight with a cold, had a skin allergy from fleas and has clearly had some babies. But all that has changed, Lucy is an amazingly sweet natured, laid back dog that loves to sit on your lap or follow you wherever you go. She is extremely well behaved. She likes to play with the other dogs but adores playing with the human children in the house most of all. They carry her around in baskets and like to dress her up like the princess she is. Evenings are spent curled up on the foot of the bed and wrapped in a blanket. Lucy will also go in her crate when you say, "In your home, Lucy." She enjoys sunning herself, playing with stuffed animals, nibbling on your fingers and having her belly rubbed is by far the greatest pleasure known to dog.

Joey is a sweet, extremely friendly, very playful pup. He loves everyone and everything. He does need work on his housetraining but he is doing better. He also needs to gain a pound or two but has a very good appetite so this will come along quickly I'm sure. He loves to play tug with toys and he likes being outside running around in the fenced yard but will go in his crate and settle down nicely. He sleeps in his crate at night with no problems and he does very well with my other dogs. He needs a home that is busy because he has lots of puppy energy and will be a loving companion for many years to come.

Foxy - "ADOPTION PENDING": 1 yr old black & tan female, to be spayed 6/19, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 13", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Meet our special little girl, Foxy. This is truly a wonderful, smart, loyal and loving girl.
Foxy's owners were going to put her down because they didn't have the finances to fix her broken leg and tail. My veterinarian called me and asked if IMPS would take her if he did the surgery. Of course, we did.
Foxy had a hind leg amputation and partial tail amputation as well. She now has a 3/4 tail!
Right after her surgery, Foxy went into heat. This heat was like no other! She stayed in heat for 2 months. All the while recovering at the doctor's office. Finally she was out of heat and came to live with me in her foster home.
Foxy is just a pleasure to have. She has no deficits at all with the missing leg. She runs, jumps, plays, and even gets on the bed with no problems. Foxy is friendly, smart, and loves other dogs. Not sure about cats and kids, but I would venture to guess they'd be just fine with her. Her demanor is very accepting of anyone who gives her attention. She seems to want to be with me at all times.
If you are looking for a young, friendly, sweet, and loveable cuddler, then Foxy is for you.
The vet wants to wait a month to let her heal from being in heat for so long to spay her. Foxy will be ready for adoption in mid-to-late June
This is one special girl and only the luckiest of homes will get to have her forever!

Frankie: 4 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 13", 13 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Frankie came out of a shelter as a stray. He has a skin issue on his underbelly but we have seen a vet and are on medicatioon. He is a little shy at first meeting, but seems very friendly if allowed to make the first move. He was very interested in the dogs at the vet's office and has been fine with the ones here. He is a lean, leggy guy. We are not sure if he is totally housebroken yet, but will he certainly knows to go outside. I think he will make a wonderful family dog.
UPDATE: What a great little guy! Now that we've gotten to know him, this is one wonderful dog! He is housebroken and just loves to be a lap dog. When people come to the house, he stands quietly at their feet to be petted. The skin on his tummy has gotten MUCH better, but he will probably always have black skin there. If you want a dog who is friendly and very family oriented, please give this little guy a chance. You'll be glad you did.

Winston is a Puppy, he is 9 months old and a very beautiful Min Pin. He gets along with all of his foster brothers and sisters and has even learned to get along with the cat. He is almost housebroken, loves to play, full of puppy energy. But would like to spend all of his quiet time sleeping at your feet. Being so young he will still need good training before he becomes the perfect Min Pin. At night he is crated and sleeps through the night. He is up to date on all his shots and can't wait to meet his new foster family.

Taki: 1 yr old stag red male, docked tail and uncropped ears. 10", 6.7 lb. Rescued from shelter.
THIS IS WHY WE ASK FOR DONATIONS! Taki came into rescue when a shelter in northern Florida asked us to take him and his brother. His brother Nori is on the site in Alabama. We had some wonderfully generous help from Pilots N Paws pilot Steve, who flew him from Pensacola to Tampa for us. Taki is a beautiful little boy who was severely burned by something. The previous onwer said she did not know what happened to him but it was obviously something splashed on him because it also injured Nori, his brother. These pictures show the progression of the wound from the 17th of June until the 23rd. He is looking much better and the vet feels he will heal fairly quickly, in the next 4 weeks or so.
Taki will always have a scar down his back although not as bad as these wounds are, and he will always need to wear a little t shirt or good sunscreen when in the sun.
Taki also had a broken front leg when he was about 3 months old which has healed very well but he does have a pin in his leg. Please, if you can, donate some money to his care. Please send donations to

Don't let the age fool you on this youngin'. She is active, loves attention, eager to take walks. She has come into a house of nine and made herself right at home. Tragically her owner passed away, along with her "sister" Mandy, Gia came to IMPS. If you want or need an excuse to get out and walk Gia is your gal. She will bring you hours of laughter and love, if you can take it! Please let me know right away if you are interested as with her personality I know someone will adopt her right away.

I follow my foster Mom everywhere, sit or lay at her feet all the time, I Love her! because now I have this big yard to run around in and two foster brothers and a cat to play with too!. I love to be petted and loved on.
I have a very quiet, sweet disposition and if you don't watch out I will jump in your lap. Mom and I go for moring runs since we both could use to lose a few pounds and for me it's our time and boy what fun. The deal is if you love me, I will love you forever, and you get door #1, #2, and #3, with me! behind each one."

Maggie: 6 yr old black & tan female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 10", 9 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
This little girl is the total package! She's got great looks, brains, and a fantastic attitude. Maggie is a total sweetheart with lots of love to give. She just loves to be around people getting lots of attention. She seems to love everybody, and is even wonderful with the infant in her foster family. She plays well with her four foster brothers and sisters too. Maggie is house-broken and crate-trained and is truly a well-behaved dog. She loves to be outside where she can play and run around; she's got lots of energy and prances around the yard like a little gazelle. Maggie's ideal adopter would be able to give her adequate exercise each day but also lots of lap and cuddling time too! With all of these positive attributes, Maggie probably won't last long...so if you are interested in the special little girl, contact her foster mom now!
