Trudy - "ADOPTION PENDING": 4-5 yr old black & rust female, soon to be spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 12½", 13 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Trudy was found in a high kill shelter, and she was very ill, and so her time was up before it began. She came to my home with mange, and has had many illness since then. But she is now healthy and ready to have her chance at the good life.
She is housebroken, crate trained, rides well in the car,and is just a sweet girl. She gets along with other dogs as long as they know that she is boss. Her favorite thing is sleeping with her person, and playing in the yard.
Trudy has had a very hard life to this point, including having many babies, but now she is ready for a new adventure,are you ready for an adventure with her?

Max: 5 yrs old black & rust male, 7lbs, 11" tall, docked tail and natural ears. Heartworm negative and on preventative. Soon to be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Owner give up.
"Hello, Maximus here, or you can call me Max. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I like to tease foster mom by running or hiding when she gets the camera. It is fun have her chase me and hilarious seeing her lie on the ground when I'm under the coffee table. My crate is a good place to hide too; I can burrow under my favorite blanket without even bunching it. I can hear her, "Max, where are you?" I'll lie real still. It baffles her every time. I do like to lie on the couch under my blanket but my favorite spot is curled up in my people's lap or sleeping in the bed. It feels so good when they pet and scratch me. I just melt when they hold and kiss on me. I like to play, wrestle and chase with the other dogs. I get the upper paw by gnawing their back legs. It is a great wrestling move, brings them down every time then I pounce. Cats are the best toys, they run and love to be chased but I haven't been able to catch one yet. Children are fascinating – they make me happy. I am a people dog. Would you like to add me as a family member?"
Note from foster mom: "I thought Max hated the camera. That little IMP. I didn't know he was having fun with me. He is such a joy in our life. He is so goofy and funny. He is a tiny min pin who is very sweet and friendly. We love to take him to the dog park where he is very well behaved. He loves attention and wants to be by your side all the time. He is a good listener and will cock his head to the side when you talk to him. He is doing well with housebreaking if kept on a regular schedule but has marked in places. He does need a fenced yard. He will bolt if he gets a chance to escape. All in all he is a wonderful dog and adds such an element of love to our lives. Anyone will be lucky to have such a wonderful companion."

"I was sitting in a cold, lonely cage at the animal shelter, when an angel came and took me to a safe haven. She told the volunteer at the shelter, his name will be Joker, and he can come live with me. You see my angel works with this rescue.
I now have a nice warm bed to sleep in, good food, dog pals, run in the yard, and even take a sunbath. Everyone at my foster home is very nice, but I am looking for a forever home, where perhaps I can have a dog buddy,and a family all my own.
I enjoy taking a walk, watching tv, eating popcorn, listening to you, and just hanging out. If you could look in my heart, it is filled with love, and I will give it all to you and your family. So if you are looking for a companion, I am waiting for you.."

Missy is perfect for your bestfriend/companion! She's a sweetheart who loves to cuddle and be by your side.
She loves to investigate everything and collects various objects. She does well with other dogs but Missy likes to be in charge. She's learning about housebreaking and doing very well. She's crate trained but prefers to be by your side.

Somehow this little guy ended up at the shelter. We have yet to find a reason why. He is such a gentleman. He loves to be held and snuggle with his people or dog friends. He follows you around just begging to be part of your day, trying to brighten it any way he can. He will lay on the couch all day or sit in your lap. He does well being crated and will just burrow under his blanket untill you return. He lets you know when it's time to go out and when it's time to be held. This little man knows just when you need to be cheered up after a long day at work.

Rusty is a relaxed, shy, lovable little guy who just wants to snuggle. Although he's crate trained Rusty prefers to sleep with you at night but will sleep quietly in the crate if it's in the same room. Rusty doesn't really play with toys or jump but loves to run. He needs a home with a fenced in yard and would prefer a home with a more relaxed pace. Rusty does well with his foster brothers but sometimes they are just too wild for him and he goes off to relax by himself. Rusty would do best in a home with older or no children.

Isabella is a wonderful little girl who is looking for a forever home. She is an insulin dependent diabetic, who needs 2 shots a day, but take her shots very well. Bella was spending her time riding in a semi, but had some issues with the other minpin, so was turned over so she could find a new home. Isabella does fine in a house with other dogs, so maybe the truck was just too small for her to share space with another dog. :) If you would like to add Isabella to your family, contact her foster dad.

Cuda is a reserved mature lady who was surrendered to a shelter when her owner had to move and could not bring her along. She is a bit aloof at first, needing time to get to know someone before wanting attention. Cuda does enjoy her treats and walks well on a leash. She should probably not be placed in a home with small children as she is a bit intimated by new situations. If interested in Cuda, contact her foster mom.

"Hi I am Mariah a 18 month old black/rust female all natural min pin. I'm 14" and 16lb's. I look a lot like my sister except I'm smaller. My foster mom says I'm very cute and loving. I'm a little shy and timid and it takes me awhile to warm up. I was a little unsure when I first came to my foster home, but every one is nice and I found out people are not too bad. I love to snuggle and sleep with my humans. I try and get the other mion pins to play, but their a little older and don't seem to want to play as much as I do. So I get my sister Princess to play with me. Because of my shyness I would do better with older children. I'm learning about cats and I think I would be ok with them. My sister and I would like to be adopted together, but we would do ok if not."

Chico: 6 yr old red male, neutered, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 12.5", 15 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Sturdy, steadfast and true - a sure-fire recipe for a great friend and that's Chico aka Otis! This poor little man has fallen on hard times, first ending up in a shelter in ID for reasons unknown, then being adopted by the wrong family who, 6 months later, unceremoniously dumped him in front of a closed shelter and drove off. Luckily, the shelter director was in when they called to tell someone about the dog they had left behind.
Chico, who we've started calling Otis as it seems to suit his calm nature far better, has been a true gentleman, but does not like to be handled roughly. We would not advise him for a family with small children as he would not understand their idea of play, so no one under 10 please. This smart boy knows some commands such as "sit" and "give me 5" but needs some training for "come" and "stay". He wants to please, but just isn't sure what is expected of him. He is not aggressive with other small dogs or with food. Cats & large dogs are still a question, but his shelter temperament test indicates that he'd do fine with a confident cat and other dogs. He loves to snuggle and will sit quietly next to you or on your lap as long as you are willing to sit with him. His natural tail is in constant motion, wagging gently almost all the time. And who can resist those natural ears?
If you are looking for a well-mannered companion, please consider Chico/Otis. He is house-broken, crate-trained and doesn't bark excessively. When he does bark, he sounds much bigger than his small size--a perfect watch dog. This gentleman stands 12½" tall and weighs in at 13 lbs -- not a big dog, but definitely not a wimp! This guy has the body of a weight lifter with sturdy legs, broad shoulders and lots of muscle. He walks well on a leash, loves to ride in a car. What more can could anyone want?

Minerva aka Minnie: 10 yr old black & rust female, soon to be spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 10½", 14 lb. Shots up-to-date. Found as a stray.
Minerva, also known as Minnie, was found half frozen to death and taken to a local shelter, where they saved her life. It's obvious she was used repeatedly for breeding, then discarded. Despite her tough past life, she is sweet and easy going. Minnie loves the foster family's 11 year old daughter, so kids over the age of 10 would be fine. She gets along with the cats in the home and the other dogs, as well. In fact, she LOVES to play, especially fetch with the resident Golden Retriever. Min Pins can live to be 20 yrs old sometimes, so this little lady has a lot of life left in her. She just needs someone to take her into their home and give her the love she deserves and let her be their loyal companion. Minnie's pictures don't do her justice, but she was very camera shy. She is to be spayed soon and when she has recovered, she will be ready for the next chapter in her life. Please email for more information if you'd like a sweet, loving girl to add to your family.

Jack: 1 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 16", 17.5 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Jack is a very loving and VERY active puppy (and should always be on a harness, as he can slip a collar quite easily). He would make a great walking/running companion, as his energy level seems to be bottomless. Cries at first in his crate, but settles down within a few minutes. Will cry to let you know he needs to potty. Will need a eye kept on in case of indoor accidents (foster mum has other dogs, so he tried marking a couple of times). He loves sitting on a cushion. He is quite the bouncer and full of curiosity. Must have a tall fenced yard and perhaps a screen door on the front door, as he will bolt out an open door. Jack is with us, as his previous owner moved out and left him with his roommates. He would do well in a single dog home, but would probably prefer a playmate.
**UPDATE: Jack has turned out to be deaf**, so will definitely need someone willing to take him for special training. He will never be able to go off-lease anywhere outside the home for his own safety.

"Hi! My name is Rocko and I'm a happy 2 year old boy looking for a family to call his own. I think I'm pretty handsome with my natural stand-up ears and my full tail, which is my barometer -- shows everyone how I'm feeling. I love athletics (I adore playing ball and I'm pretty good at bringing it back!) but I also enjoy a good snuggle on the couch. Laps are one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. I am smart, willing to learn new things, and, although, new people make me nervous at first, a few rounds of fetch will make me fast friends. I get along fine with other dogs, but I don't know about cats. Do you need a jogging partner? Or just a clown to make you smile? Pick me! I guarantee its hard to wear a frown when I'm around. Chloe: 2 yr old black & rust female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 10 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Chloe is a Velcro baby and will stay close to her person. She will venture away now and again, but comes back to make sure you're still there. She is very cute and well behaved. She loves to snuggle. Chloe is slowly learning some manners and how to walk on a leash. She really had not been taught anything before. Because of this, obedience training will be required of the adopter. Chloe is crate trained.
Kojak and Chloe came into rescue together and were very bonded. Chloe, especially, seemed dependant on Kojak's presence. However, over the ensuing weeks, she has become more independent and the two have been separated. Kojak is now in another foster home. The ideal outcome would be that someone adopt both dogs together, but we are willing to place them separately.

Kojak: 2 yr old black & rust male, neutered, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 13", 10.5 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Little Kojak is just the cutest, most adorable little guy. He loves to snuggle and be hugged, get belly rubs, and quickly grows attached to his people. He loves to play outside, so a securely fenced yard is a must. He is now mastering how to walk nicely on a leash and slowly learning the basics - sit, lie down, go potty. Obedience training will be required of his new owner. Kojak does well overnight in his crate, but he's also happy to snuggle up in your bed, too. He can be an assertive alpha dog, so he's best suited to a home with a well trained adult! He prefers women, as is common with a lot of Min Pins, but is getting used to a man's voice.
Kojak and Chloe came into rescue together and we would still like to see them placed together, but are willing to separate them. Kojak is the more independent of the two and is doing fine in his new foster home. He's basically turning into a "pocket dog" in that he loves to be carried around or sit on someone's lap.

Jax is a typical active 7 y/o Min Pin. He's up to date on vaccs. He's friendly with strangers & other dogs. I don't know about children, but feel he would do well with school age children & older. I've nicknamed him Mr. Jumping Jax. He does jump on his humans. He tries to jump in your lap while your eating & has even jumped on the back of the sofa from the floor! He loves to snuggle in your lap & will go willingly into the crate, & initially barks to be let out. So far, he seems housetrained with no marking! He does not bark any more than the average Min Pin. He loves my backyard as long as I'm outside with him & he's accustomed to being walked too. Jax will make a great pet for any family. Could that be yours?

My previous mommy was very sad to give me up as she says I was a wonderful companion. She told my foster mommy that I am good with children, not a barker, and never gave her any problems with other dogs. In February I started to have some problems with my eyes, but I am on two medicines twice a day now and things are going great. My foster family says I take my medicine really well too...no fighting with me like those kids (haha). I like my stuffed toys, sleeping under the covers and being outside. I love to be loved up on, but am also good at sitting or laying on the floor by myself. Could your home have the perfect blankie spot for me?"

Dusty is an 11 year old red Min Pin. He is about 12 inches tall and weighs about 16 lbs. He is current on shots, micro chipped, heartworm negative and on preventative and is neutered.
Dusty came to IMPS when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him. He has some minor eye conditions that do not cause him problems, the foster Mom does think that his vision may be limited somewhat as he will growl at shadows at times.
Dusty is currently living in a foster home with twelve other canines and two felines, while he would prefer to be an only child, he does well with all the activity here, Dusty does have quite a vocabulary, while he is not a big barker, he does growl and grump when things are not going his way, or if you want to pick him up, Dusty may show his teeth but will not and has not ever bitten, this is just Dusty's way of talking and letting you know what he likes and does not like.
Dusty is rather set in his ways, he will get up in the morning and eat, then he likes to go back to bed and be left alone until he is ready to get up. Dusty does sleep in the people bed with his humans but then again he does not like to be moved around once he settles in, he does like to sleep with his head propped up against your leg.
It will take a special adopter to be owned by Dusty, someone single or a more mature couple looking for that special companion, Dusty still has many years to offer someone his style of love and is looking for that person to love him back. Dusty will crate but he does not like it, he is not house destructive and is housebroken, so we do NOT crate Dusty. We will not be flying anymore due to the hot weather, Dusty is now living in Seneca, SC so please be prepared to pick him up here. I have never known anything BUT LOVE, in fact my owner is crying her heart out over having to turn me over to IMPS but she knows it is for the best. I am not in anyway a neglected or abused little girl, I am one of the truly lucky ones."
Carolina is an 11 yr old red girl, she is up to date on her shots, has been spayed, will be micro chipped, is heartworm negative and on preventative, she will also be having a dental done here in the near future. Carolina has had several surgeries in her past on her rear knees and does have some trouble getting up and down, but she is on medication that does help her out, it only cost 16.00 for 3 months so it is not an expensive medication at all. Carolina also had to have her right eye removed just recently due to an old injury she received but it has not stopped her at all, she still get's outside and wanders in the yard just fine. She is being fostered right now with 12 other dogs and two felines and get's along with everyone, Carolina is a great girl who knows no stranger's. However we will not let her go to a home with young children.
Carolina's Mommy married a NAVY man that was stationed over in Japan and so they left Carolina with an IMPS volunteer while they were gone, now two long years later they have returned but sadly they are in a base housing that is not allowing pets, so they have decided in the best interest of Carolina to let IMPS try to find her a quiet furever home hopefully where she can be the only dog and live out her remaining years in peace. She will sure prove to be a most loyal and loving girl, she loves so to burrow deep in her fleece blankets and sleep. Junior Varsity (JV): 6 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 11.5 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
JV is a loyal and loving little boy to his owners. He has spent most of his life in apartments and loves long walks but is also trained to use a doggie door. JV is 6 years old and thinks he is a big dog so loves to play with other dogs - big and small.
JV likes adults and older children but is very independent and is used to spending time on his own. He still has "flashes" of puppy and will bounce and prance when going for a walk or a ride. He loves lying on his owners lap under a blanket and burrows under the covers to go to sleep.
JV is currently having some issues since his position as an only child has been usurped by a toddler (don't worry, he's not aggressive, just jealous!). While JV is housebroken there have been a few accidents lately which are sure to stop once he is the center of attention again.

"Hey, I'm Harley. Yeah I know, I don't photograph all that well, but I'm not one to pose and primp for the camera. There are more important things to do besides sitting pretty. Someone has to manage the daily schedule: breakfast at 5:15 am - dinner at 5:00pm. No excuses. Play time - all dogs are to run and chase each other 100's of times around the yard. If you get caught - you have to twist and wrestle to get away. If you can't get away - you get your butt sniffed. Sorry, that is the rule. Security patrol - No rodents, squirrels or chipmunks are allowed on the premises. Toy shaking and tossing is practice for when I catch one of those audacious critters."
Notes from foster mom: "Harley was found as a stray walking in a heavy traffic area. He's an older man, but sweet as they come. He still loves to play with you by getting down on his front legs and jumping at you. Then he runs toward you wagging all over wanting you to pet him and talk baby talk. He likes other dogs and cats. He likes laying on his blankie at your feet. He loves just being near you. He loves his food, but is not food aggressive at all. He's just an easy going happy-go-lucky guy. He has been neutered and has all his shots. He will make a perfect companion."

Chaz is a happy dog and eager to please. He is very loving and likes attention. He is new to rescue and as I'm getting to know him, I really do like him. Sadie: 7 yr old black & tan female, 24 lb. docked tail, natural ears. Spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped.
Sadie is a wonderful dog, very sweet and loving. She loves to explore the yard each day by patrolling the perimeter making sure no unauthorized critter gains access. She gets along with other dogs and cats and is starting to play with the other dogs. Her weight gain is due to poor diet, lack of exercise and a condition called low thyroid. She was diagnosed with a low thyroid condition last week and began taking medication. She is already showing an increase in energy and seems to feel better. The cost of the medicine is $7 to $10 per month. Unlike many min pins this lady does not bolt and is completely house and crate trained. The perfect home for this loving lady would be one that would give her a lot of attention, provide healthy food and regular exercise. She has years of devotion to give.

Little Man is an approximately 7 year old male, black and tan, with cropped ears and a docked tail. He is 22lbs at his optimal weight and is neutered, with shots up-to-date, microchipped, heartworm tested and on preventative.
Little Man is a man of minpins. He is loving and affectionate and follows me every where I go, all through the house and out in the yard. He thinks he is a lap dog and will snuggle and cuddle up in your arms. He will give a gentle touch with his paw to indicate he wants to be petted. He loves to play with other dogs and will wrestle all day. He likes to chase the cat but she is too fast for him. He is crated trained, walks well on leash and loves to ride in the car. He is used to having a pet door on the back door, but will do well on a strict schedule.
Little Man loves women and kids, but is very scared of men and will growl and retreat to get away from them. He is very shy and a bit wary of strangers, especially men. Due to his size and fears, a home with men and small children will not be considered.
If you are a single woman looking for the man of your dreams, Little Man is the one! If you have older children (7-8+) he would like to meet them too.

Jake is a beautiful darker min pin with the rust color actually running all the way underneath his black when you look at it in the light. He was brought into rescue from a shelter who said his owners gave him up. Jake is a wonderful playmate for other dogs and we would prefer he go to a home with one or more dogs. He will take time to trust new humans in his life, and until then will shy away. He is not ever aggressive with his timidness. He can be coaxed to interact with children the same as adults, but will hide when they get loud until he adjusts. Treats are very helpful to coax him out until then! Jake also loves to curl up in his pet bed on his own or with a canine friend, or next to you in bed. He makes the morning bright by being so happy to see you wake up!

Angie: 2 yr old stag red female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11", 10-11 lb. Shots up-to-date, microchipped.
Angie is a beautiful, intelligent young lady who will steal your heart.
Although Angie was originally rescued from a puppy mill, she was obviously someone's loving companion before that ordeal. She is such a sweet, well-mannered little girl and has so much love to give. When taking treats, she will look at you with those beautiful eyes and gently take the treat in her mouth.
Within hours of arriving at her foster home she saw the other dogs in the house use the doggie door. You could see the little wheels turning in her head as she watched. She immediately walked over, stepped through the doggie door and did her business. Now that's one smart girl! She appears to be completely house-trained as she has not had a single accident in the house.
Angie is also vey social and gets along just fine with her foster siblings and is playing with them like she's known them forever. She's a bit of a tomboy and likes to play rough, so a home with small children is not recommended.

Jake is about 10 years old but not at all "old." He is vigorous, energetic, and enthusiastic about his people, walks, food, snuggles and much more. He is black/tan (some gray), about 13 lb., docked tail, natural small ears. He is a sweety, housetrained and cooperative. Jakey-wakey is up on shots, altered, microchipped. He does not try to dig out or escape to see what is on the other side of the fence. He gets along with everyone, canine and human. Jake is a special little joy.
Jake was found in Allen, Texas, and his home could not be located. He may have been de-barked as his bark is very soft. He loves walks, cuddles, food. He enjoys the yard but could thrive in an apartment if given nice walks. Recently he was diagnosed with diabetes. Early diagnosis and good care means he is doing well, no loss of eyesight or other effects. He eats special food and needs very little insulin (Vetsulin ®) With daily walks and the special food, he might need no insulin (no walks until his foster mom gets a cast off her leg.)

"Hi, I'm Gizmo the First because I was the first Gizmo they got in and now there are several of us. I'm 8.5 inches tall, 14 lbs., and 4 years old. I'm looooong on personality and cutes. My tail is docked, but my ears are all natural and very expressive. I'm up to date on my shots, neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, so I'm ready to go!
I'm an easy going, active fellow who loves to play with toys and gets along with everybody - even cats! I can be your best buddy, keep you laughing, and cuddle with the best of them. I'm a bit of a ladies' man, but hey, I can hang with the guys just as easily. I haven't been around kids much so not really sure about them, but I'm guessing that if they will play nicely with me, I would like them too.

"Hi I'm Marcus, a very well behaved older gentleman. I'm 9 years young and a real mama's boy. Well, lets change that to a real 'anybody who will hold me' boy. I really love to sit on laps and be right next to my human. I get along fine with all my foster sisters and brothers, including the resident cats, but I don't play with them - nope - I give all my attention to my foster mom and dad. I recently went into the doctor's to get a complete overhaul on my mouth. My mouth was hurting real bad because I had infected teeth and teeth that no longer had roots. They pulled a lot of my teeth and now I eat soft food. The vet says someday, I may be able to eat hard kibble again, but for right now, I need a softer diet. Also, they say I am deaf - whatever that means. My foster mom is teaching me some hand signals, so now I know when I'm suppose to come in. I do whine a lot for attention but as long as you spend lots of time with me, I'm quiet. My mom says I'm such a loving little boy. I love to sleep under the covers in a big bed. I am crate trained, but since I've learned how comfy my human's bed is, I insist that I get bed privileges. I'm no trouble at all and take up very little room. If you are looking for a 'Velcro' boy; one that you can spoil by pampering and holding, then I'm the little boy that can complete your household. My perfect forever home might be with a stay-at-home lady or gentleman who could share their lives with me 24/7. I would like a home without small children. I would never hurt a small child, but I'm tiny and they might hurt me. My foster mom works and leaves me with the other furbabies during the day, but I would love to have someone that could hold me all the time. And remember, I HAVE to have bed privileges...:) Cuddled up next to you is right where I need to be!"

Dominic: 2 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 13 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Dominic is a very laid back easy going small min pin boy of about 13 lbs. He is black and rust with natural ears that stick out sort of like Dobbie in Harry Potter with an adorable face and a docked tail. He was rescued from one of the worst cases of animal cruelty - a puppy mill that allowed not only min pins but other breeds of dogs suffer horribly in very bad conditions. Dominic was treated for heartworms but has now had negative readings, so adoptable now. He has really come out of his shell and enjoyed playing with the other dogs as Dominic is pretty shy at first. He still cowers when you go to pick him up, but I think it is more his personality now as opposed to fear and very endearing in my opinion. Dominic would be perfect for a retired couple or a single person that wants a more laid back, but very affectionate little boy and would benefit from a nice yard because he loves the outdoors only when you are out with him. Also, he needs a routine with a stable home environment to feel secure. He is almost always very shy at first, but then becomes very demanding about cuddles and love. He needs ONLY positive reinforcement due to his past and responds really well to it. He sleeps with his foster mom in her bed and only has an open crate with a bed in it that he like to sleep in, so we don't know how he would respond in a closed crate. He is penned as opposed to crated. We tend to think that he would do better in a no very young kid, no-cat home and only with a more laid back dog of like temperment. He does chase the cats when given the opportunity in his foster home but does not attack if he catches them. The reason why we believe no very young kids is because he is very delicate and would not understand children that don't know their boundaries. Dominic is a sweet, loving little guy that reacts to every cuddle and pet.

Harker is a very sweet little guy that has a LOT of puppy left in him even though he is well into adulthood - probably between 4-5 years old. He hops when he is excited or happy and loves cuddles. He gets along great with other dogs and would do best in a home with other like sized and temperment dogs. He also does pretty well with cats. He loves lots of positive reinforcement and would love to be loved in your home.

Faith: 2 yr old black & tan female, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 15", 12.8 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Faith is a beautiful and very sweet, shy 2-3 year old puppy mill rescue. She was brought to IMPS pregnant and gave birth to five pups. She is now spayed, healthy, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on prevention.
Faith is a work in progress and needs an experienced dog-lover owner. She is very shy of people, and it takes her quite a while to learn to trust and warm up. She needs a calm, patient, experienced adopter who is willing to let this girl blossom. You can thank the puppy mill for her fear issues. It took time to make her this way, it will take time to undo the harm.
She likes toys, and is learning to play a little with her foster mom. She likes to be near her person and follows everywhere. She is housebroken, uses the doggy door. She is learning how to walk on a leash - she's good, but afraid to leave the safety of her yard even with her pack members accompanying her. Faith is amazingly athletic and can jump a 5 foot fence with ease, but all she wants is back in her yard where she feels safe. A secure yard, with a tall fence is a must since she cannot be walked at this point.
She's not aggressive, gets along and loves to play with other dogs and even tolerates cats. She's very smart and attentive. She is better with women than men, and would do best in a home without children. It would help her if there is already a stable, calm dog in the family to model behavior for her.
She very much wants to give her heart to someone, and is making an effort to overcome her fears. If you can wait for the reward and appreciate the small victories in the meantime, please contact her foster mom, Katherine at minpinity@yahoo.com.

Sir Simba may be named for the Lion King, or Simba Prideland, as AKC has him, but he will be the king of your heart if you give him a chance. He is an elegant gentleman, highly intelligent and affectionate. He is 8 years old, about 17 lb, 14 inches at the shoulder. He is black/ light tan, natural perky erect ears, docked tail. He is alert and an excellent watch dog but not barky. He is ready for a permanent home as his elderly owner could no longer care for him.
Sir Simba is healthy, neutered, up to date on shots and preventions, microchipped. He is well house trained and well-behaved. He uses the dog door but will let you know he needs to go out if there is no dog door. He si patient as he waits for you. He is delighted to see a harness and leash as he loves walks. He will help motivate you to follow those doctor's orders to get more exercise. He also loves snuggling next to his people. He enjoys toys and figuring things out, such as treats in a toy. He gets along with the dogs in his foster home but could be an only dog, especially if he had time with his human. He would be a wonderful companion for someone home a lot or who needs an excuse for long walks. He would enjoy a home with dog door and fenced yard. He would be good in an apartment if he had walks to keep him trim and healthy. He needs a home with no small children or very large dogs.

Elroy is a very sweet and good looking boy who warms quickly to strangers and other dogs. He is not aggressive, submissive to other dogs, and loves to cuddle. He has had limited interactions with cats but seems ok with them. This shy boy was found as stray, was then adopted, but other dog was not treating him well, so he's again up for adoption to save his life. He is now heartworm free and on preventive.

Razz-Ma-Tazz is a delightful black and tan, all natural boy of 10 months, 12 inches tall, 10 pounds, and microchipped. He's up to date on shots, neutered and is microchipped. He's crate trained and housebroken. Razz-Ma-Tazz was brought into animal control with a severely broken rear right leg that had to be amputated. Razz-Ma-Tazz says he makes up for that with an all natural tail. He has not let this minor handicap slow him down one bit and gets around with no problems. He's pretty calm for a young min pin. He gets along with everyone: dogs, cats, and people of all ages. Razz-Ma-Tazz loves to cuddle and sleep under the blankets with you at night. He's just the sweetest little boy with lots of heart and love.

Ellie: 4 year old female, 12 inches tall, 11.8 lbs., spayed, up to date on shots, has gone through heartworm treatment and is now healthy and on preventative.
Ellie is an adorable and sweet girl! She needs lots of attention perhaps with a retired couple or stay at home person who will allow her to sleep with them and just cuddle and love on her a lot. She is about four years old and is all up to date on shots. I do suggest that she not be placed with children. I currently have kids age 4 and 16. Ellie does well but would rather have it quiet. Dallas is a large and very elegant boy. He moves with grace and has a personality matched by few. He LOVES to be held but being large, is quite content to be at your side with a loving hand occasionally petting his head. He will require a fairly high fence for security but has not been observed jumping or digging thus far. He gets along well with his foster siblings as well as the resident cats. He, in fact, was found curled up at the shelter with a cat that had been also turned in.
Dallas would make a wonderful addition to any family that has the time to devote to him. He follows basic commands and is willing to learn and please. He has great house manners and really looks forward to making your home, his home.

This is an incredibly friendly and sweet puppy that is all puppy and has lots of energy but is able to settle down. He is even housebroken, but will have occasional accident if you don't put him out; he does not know to bark yet to let you know; and does not mind a crate for short periods of time. He also likes to sleep with his humans. He should be with an active family that has another dog about his age to play with. Older kids to play with would be to his liking too (age above 5) since then they know how to play with the dog. He loves approval and tries very hard to please. He is a very good boy, and would be a great addition to any family. Did I mention he is beautiful too?

Choco: 8 lbs, 12 inches tall, 8 yrs old. Cropped ears, docked tail. Neutered, up to date on all shots, and on Heart worm prevention. Micorchipped.
Choco – sweet chocolate with no fat, he is a low calorie treat, good for the heart. Choco is a spunky, slim boy - healthy, affectionate, house trained and well-behaved. He uses the dog door, is comfortable on harness and leash. A cataract is developing in his right eye but he manages fine. Long before he was rescued, he had had an injury to his right rear leg. He has had successful surgery and has recovered quite well. He is the perfect size for resting on a lap, being carried, riding in a car or being pampered—he will tell you so himself. Choco enjoys walks and human laps and lots of good things. He goes to bed at night, under the covers and ready to be next to his foster dad. During the day, Choco likes to sun outside or lie on a pillow near his foster dad's office chair.
Sweet with a bit of jalapeno for spice, Choco has the bark of a bigger dog and shows his "inner rottweiler" when an intruder comes. He is a good little watch dog. He gets along with all the dogs in his foster home. While Choco enjoys doggie friends, he could be an only dog. He would be a wonderful companion for someone home a lot or for travel. He would be fine in an apartment if he had walks to keep him trim and fit.
Choco would do best in a home without small children.

Adonis has a coat that is a gorgeous satiny black with deep rust. He is a sweet good-natured boy. He has an infectious enthusiasm for life and people. Don't you want to "catch" that enthusiasm? He would love to wake up next to you each day and then welcome you home at the end of your day.

Tonka is a great loving little dog who is 14 months old. He is on the shy side, but is very eager to please and love you. He loves to go where you go. He rides well in the car and has decided that he now likes sleeping with his humans. He never had alot of affection before so it is very new to him, but he loves and welcomes it very much. He is laid back compared to some Minpins, but don't get me wrong he loves to play.Playing is also new to him. I suspect that he will be playing alot more when he is more comfortable in his new home. Tonka needs a very loving home and will make a great addition to a great family.

This is an extremely sweet and well-mannered dog who was a part of the Foster-to-Adopt program where the participant had opted to adopt when a family member had surgery and needed her to care for her.
Lucky is partially to mostly deaf and has lost one of his eyes, but that does not keep him from being a wonderful family member and full of energy. He gets around just fine, is just as happy as he can be, and just bucks and kicks up and runs around like a puppy. He loves to be cuddled with and petted a lot. He needs and deserves to be very much a part of a family indoors and does very well with the other dogs in my care especially a puppy that has endless energy. They play like they were always brothers. He was completely housetrained in his previous foster home as he has demonstrated for me as well. He gets along very well with everyone including children and cats and just now deserves the good life to be spoiled and made over. Lucky loves cushy warm bedding and lots of blankets to burrow in and will often times be sleeping when everything is going on around him. This is a blessing and quite a change from the hair trigger attention most min pins have – you can't get away moving from one room to the next without them being there. We are very excited to have this adorable little guy in our program and won't stop until we find the perfect forever home for him.

Snickers: 5 yr old chocolate and tan male, to be neutered end of July, docked tail and uncropped ears. 15", 24 lb. Shots up-to-date. Found as a stray.
Snickers is a very beautiful, very large chocolate boy with beautiful golden brown eyes. He is probably around 24 lbs. now with maybe a lb. to lose, but he looks really good at this weight as you can see by his standing shot in the yard. Snickers was not always so beautiful. As a matter of fact, he was a horrible mess with sarcoptic mange, oozing sores, infected gums in the front, hookworms, whipworms, heartworms and tested positive for erlichea as well. Everything has been treated, but we are doing a SLOW heartworm treatment on him - which is more humane for a dog that was as neglected as this boy was. That means he has received 1 month of antibiotics before starting his heartworm treatment (now done) to kill a heartworm bacteria and therefore weakening the heartworms and to treat the erlichea (tick sickness), then he has received his 1st heartworm shot and gets his 2nd shot on the 18th of June. By the end of July, Snickers will be neutered and microchipped and ready to be adopted. This is one of the best behaved little boys in my care ever. He has opted from the beginning to potty outside, and I think I may have seen an accident or 2 since he has been in my care. For a dog that has been quite obviously kept outdoors, this is amazing! He also minds beautifully and took to sitting for treats with almost no work at all. His entire coat was replaced by this silky shiny shorter coat than his previous mess. He is full of personality and loves to play but is easily quieted down and handles positive only correction beautifully. Snickers loves the yard but appears to be the first one to want to go inside, so he has definitely been domesticated. He is a little shy at first probably due to his past but seems to warm up very quickly in environments where he feels safe. He is a great cuddler, loves attention and belly rubs, and his tail goes non-stop. This is one happy little guy, and we will be looking for that perfect home so he will be happy the rest of his days.

Anna Belle: 6 yr old black & tan female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears. Rescued from shelter.
"I was initially turned in by my owner due to a divorce. She was very upset to leave me, but she knew it was best for me. I love to be held and sleep in bed with you. I like other dogs. I will dance for my dinner. I prefer children over 8. I am crate trained. I am a spry 6 year old loving sweetie pie. I did get adopted but was returned because my new owner thought I was too needy of a dog. I also had a few accidents, but this whole change of living arrangements has me very confused. I really need someone who wants a loving companion and is patient while I adjust to my new home. I have tons of love to give that special someone. I did get adopted again but my new owner kept me in a crate for at least 9 hours a day, six days a week, and I just couldn't hold it that long. I don't do well with really small children because they scare me. I just need a family that wants a dog that is affectionate and a true companion. I want to know I am loved and will return that love many times over. I am a bit needy, but all this shuffling around is really making me insecure. Will you be the one to love me with all your heart? Pumpkin: 10 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11.5", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
Pumpkin is an older, handsome gent who will delight your heart and soul. He's perfectly content to lie in his crate with an open door and lots of fluffy, clean blankets and watch you clean his house, or encourage you to include him in that ride in the car you are about to take. He's a clown who is an easy keeper. Pumpkin is a loyal soul whose endured his share of hardships during his life. His first owner died and he was left to the streets. His second has taken ill, and again, he finds himself in rescue. Pumpkin is now interviewing prospective applicants and can't wait to find just the perfect home. His needs are less demanding then a young pup but does require lots of love; he's a great cuddler! He gets along well with his foster siblings and the resident cats. He does have some allergies that plague him from time to time but we are now taking this opportunity to address these through diet. Chloe: 6 yr old black & rust female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 18 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Meet Chloe! Chloe is the Rescue Sweetheart of many of our volunteers. She was brought into rescue after her owners refused to come get her when she was picked up as a stray. Have you read the story of the Ugly Duckling? Well you would've had to look close to see the beauty of this dog, on the day she was retrieved from the shelter. On the outside, her coat was patchy to say the least; her skin scabby and on the inside she carried 2 pounds of bladder stones. Her ears were infected, her nails inconceivably long and she hadn't seen a bath in many a year. It's no wonder this little girl had given up. Sick and unwanted, still her eyes begged to be loved. What a beautiful face she has.
Well look at Chloe today! She's young at heart, well trained, and loves to please. Chloe's perfect home would be one with another fur-pal to romp with. She looks forward to watching a good movie on TV with her favorite person and hopefully you have just a little spare room in that nice clean bed you sleep in, so she can enjoy the comforts of a good night's rest. Chloe would prefer a home with a fenced yard. It doesn't need to be huge - just a small place in the sun for this little girl to so | |
